Monthly Meeting: Rural Diaries. Presented by The Milton Historical Society.

The Milton Historical Society welcomes Dr. Catherine Wilson, University of Guelph, Professor Emeritus and Director of the Rural Diary Archives website.

Dr. Wilson will help us uncover the lives of Rural Families. In 2015 she and the University of Guelph launched the Rural Diary archives showcasing over 200 diaries from 1800 to 1960 in Ontario. These diaries were transcribed by volunteers and then digitized. Dr. Wilson’s presentation will illustrate some of the diaries from the collection including some from Halton as well as the importance in using diaries in you own research at: https://ruraldiaries.uoguelph.ca

This event will take place in the Milton Historical Society: Carriage Room. Free parking in the lots on Mary St and Brown St, and on Main west of St. Paul’s. Entrance is through the side door.
