M. Night Shyamalan thriller being filmed in Downtown Milton

Get ready for more filming in Downtown Milton!

Director, M. Night Shyamalan’s 16th thriller, Good Grades is being filmed in Downtown Milton! Shyamalan is known for directing and writing films including The Sixth Sense (1999), Unbreakable (2000) and Split (2016), to name a few.

Filming has been taking place in Hamilton and Mississauga over the last few weeks.

According to a Hamilton Spectator article, Good Grades may be a new name for a movie titled Trap that Shyamalan was set to film in the Summer. The movie was said to be a “psychological thriller set at a concert.”

Here is everything that community members need to know about the filming downtown:

Road Closure

Main Street East between Charles Street and James Street will be closed from Monday, November 20 and Tuesday, November 21 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. for night filming. Halton Police will be on-site during this time to help facilitate the road closure. The filming will include a mock SWAT team with deactivated weapons.

Filming Timeline
Thursday, November 16 – Saturday, November 19: Prep work taking place from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily.

Monday, November 20 & Tuesday, November 21: Night filming will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The road closure will be in effect during these days.

Wednesday, November 22: Wrap up will take place from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Parking

The crew will be reserving street segments and parking lots on Friday, November 17 at 12:00 p.m. with vehicles arriving on Saturday, November 18. These vehicles will be departing on Wednesday, November 22 before 10:00 a.m. The following areas will be affected:

  • Both sides of Main Street East between Charles Street and James Street
  • Municipal lot #1
  • Milton Fairgrounds
  • Various private lots and streets
