The Downtown Milton Business Improvement Area is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled candidate for the position of Marketing Coordinator. Through this opportunity, a qualified candidate will promote and support the local community and small businesses.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote local businesses and the Downtown Milton BIA community through a variety of channels.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on the effectiveness of marketing activities and campaigns.
  • Plan, create, and manage content for social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook), including photography and video production.
  • Design promotional materials such as posters, flyers, newsletters, and digital graphics.
  • Maintain and regularly update the Downtown Milton website with news, events, and business information.
  • Coordinate member and community newsletters and marketing communications.
  • Support the planning and execution of events.
  • Maintain accurate member database.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with downtown businesses and property owners.
  • Take photos and organize visual content (photos/videos) for marketing use.
  • Assist with administrative duties, including member inquiries, ordering, and research.

Position requirements:

  • Completed a college diploma or university degree in marketing, communications, business, event management or a related field
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Excellent graphic design skills (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva Pro)
  • Experience using social media in a professional context (Instagram, Facebook)
  • Experience with WordPress, MailChimp, Meta for Business, Google Ads
  • Knowledge of photography, videography (for social media graphics and videos)
  • Event and project management experience
  • Outgoing and confident with an ability to learn quickly
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • A keen interest in community-based organizations and supporting small businesses
  • Flexible, self-motivated and eager to lead and complete a wide variety of tasks

Hours:

Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend hours will be required based on business needs. Work location is 251 Main St. E, Suite 103.
