The Downtown Milton Business Improvement Area is in full support of this morning’s announcement by Premier Doug Ford and Member of Provincial Parliament for Milton Parm Gill on the approval of two new post-secondary campuses and a new long-term care home in the Milton Education Village. Over a decade of waiting is over and construction can now begin.
We congratulate Wilfrid Laurier University, Conestoga College, and Schlegel Villages on this important milestone. We are supportive of the work they are doing to create new opportunities for educational excellence, health care support and employment in Milton.
These new facilities will help create new opportunities for the downtown community and our local businesses.
They will help provide a talent pipeline for short and long-term employment opportunities and help foster a diversified local economy which opens the door for new businesses and entrepreneurship.
They will also improve the quality of life for residents of all ages, bring more people to our town, and help position Milton as the best place to live, work, raise a family and do business now and in the future.
We recognize the significant efforts of MPP Parm Gill, local elected officials, Town of Milton staff and other partners who, over the last decade and more, have played critical roles in making the vision for the Milton Education Village a reality.
