The world might be a bitm different this year, but the Downtown Milton BIA is making sure that there are lots of fun, safe things for kids and families do for Halloween!
The Downtown Milton BIA is hosting a Halloween Takeover for two weeks this year (Oct. 17 -31) featuring an exciting Outdoor Scavenger Hunt, Halloween-themed how-to videos, a downloadable activity booklet, costume contest, great prizes and more.
Ways to Participate in The Downtown Milton Halloween Takeover
Outdoor Scavenger Hunt (Presented by The Barn Door Studio)
Come on downtown anytime between Saturday, October 17 and Saturday October 31 to participate in the outdoor Scavenger Hunt, presented by The Barn Door Studio! Seek out the Halloween images placed in storefront windows or doors throughout Downtown Milton. (Images can be identified easily from the outside by even our littlest participants.) To get into the spirit of Halloween, families can participate while wearing their Halloween costumes. Entries will be accepted until Saturday, October 31 at 9 p.m.
Here’s how to you can participate in the Scavenger Hunt:
- Download the participation form linked at the top of this page. Write down where each Halloween image is located.
- Once the form is complete, scan it or take a picture and send it to us on info@downtownmilton.com. (Please make sure the photo is clear so we can read the information.)
- All the correct forms will be entered into a draw to win a gift basket of prizes and goodies from our Downtown Milton businesses.
***Please note that this is an outdoor event and the images to be found will be seen easily from outside. We encourage participants to remain physically distanced from people outside their households while participating.

Activity Booklet
Download the Halloween Activity Booklet linked at the top of this page and enjoy for lots of fun activities for the whole family! The booklet includes colouring pages, word searches, mazes, and more. There are also some great kid-friendly recipes you can do at home.
Costume Contest
We want to see your Halloween costumes! Dress up in your home or while you are out completing the Scavenger Hunt. There are two prizes to be won for individual photo and sibling/family photo!
Post the picture on Instagram or Facebook and tag @dtmilton or email it to us at info@downtownmilton.com for a chance to enter a draw and win a gift basket of treats and a $25 gift card to a Downtown Milton business of your choice.
Helping Kids in Need
For this initiative, the Downtown Milton BIA has partnered with Food4Kids Halton. Food4Kids provides a weekend supply of healthy foods to ensure at-risk children have access to nutritious meals at home. Volunteers assemble food packages that are delivered to schools every Friday for children to take home for the weekend. Click here to learn more about Food4Kids or to make a donation.
